Track
Guides
so any speed you can take through
there is going to be carried all
the way down the long straight.
You reach your maximum speed
here, going flat out up to 280 km/h
down towards the Tiergarten and
the Hohenrain chicane. You’ve got
to be extremely confident and well
positioned because any mistakes
here can hurt you coming back
onto the Grand Prix circuit to com-
plete the lap.
It’s often said that the most
dangerous part of learning the
Nürburgring is roughly your sixth
lap, because that’s when you think
you know where you’re going.
It’s a good place to get an in-
structor who knows the track and
will guarantee maximum fun and
safety. I’d also advise learning it
in a slower car to give yourself a
chance to process the information
– there’s an awful lot to take in!
